Tips for Success in Chemistry
1. Do all assigned work. The work may seem tedious, but you need to practice something correctly at least seven times for the process to stick. 2. Pay attention during class. Sometimes I don't put certain things in the notes, and you need to listen to hear them. 3. Participate & focus in class, this will ensure you don't misunderstand the more difficult concepts. 4. Remember, this is science. Math is very important to Chemistry, but you need to understand the "why" as well as the "how". 5. Seek Help! If you can't get me to help you individually, there are many other places to learn! Where to find help?
1. Other Students. This is your best bet. Sometimes other students are far better at explaining certain topics than the teacher. 2.Your textbook- I don't use it often, but all of my notes coincide with your book chapters. 3. Socratic.org 4. ck12.org 5. Bozeman Science 6. Brightstorm 7. Email me!!! I can help, I promise!! Make sure you use your class period when signing up.
For example if I'm in 3rd period, use 3rd in place of 4th in the directions. * AP use @casteelap About Mrs. Casteel
I was born and raised in Murfreesboro. I graduated from Blackman High and went on to the University of Tennessee to receive my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. My husband and I moved back from Knoxville in 2009 and welcomed our first son, Asher in 2010. We welcomed our second son, Boone, in February of 2015. I have worked in the medical field, telecommunications, and found my love in education. This is my 5th year of teaching in Rutherford County and I am very glad to be at Eagleville. This school atmosphere is the best I have found. The students are respectful and driven, and the faculty is supportive. I look forward to helping our students excel in Science. |
